Save Energy on Your PC

Green is In

As business is going green and policy-makers favoring the direction, heading towards renewable energy sources and energy saving, computer users can start practicing energy saving habits to go green themselves.

Eight Ways to Make Your Computer Green

1. Clean your PC with history cleaners. Cleaner PCs are faster PCs and equate to more tasks done in less time and usage of power.

2. Turn off your computer monitor and computer during idle times.

3. Turn off and unplug unused devices like scanners, printers or cameras.

4. If you are too lazy to turn off your computer when idle, set it to sleep or hibernate mode.

5. Limit the use of resource intensive programs and applications. These applications usually tell you how much resources they're going to take up by looking at the minimum system requirements in the program's documentation.

6. Switch to an LCD monitor.

7. Use Energy Star qualified products.

8. Turn off your surge protector.
